A with many real markets across Canada, the southern Georgian Bay area saw increased sales activity following a softer market in 2018 and this included the condominium segment of our market.Ā Ā See my “YEAR END 2022 SOUTHERN GEORGIAN BAY CONDO COOMUNIQUEā² MARKET REPORT for a complete summary of condominium sales activity in our area for 2020.
The Collingwood and Blue Mountain area real estate market is currently undergoing rapid growth. Nowhere is this growth more prevalent than in the often confusing condominium marketplace. The Southern Georgian Bay area offers a wide range of condominium options and styles to choose from entry level units in the $200,000 range in Collingwood developments such as Cranberry Resort, mid-range priced units at Lighthouse Point, Tanglewood, Dockside Village and others all the way up to lavish waterfront condominium residences at Mariners Haven and the Shipyards. In the Blue Mountains choices and prices are just as varied with slope side units available in the Blue Mountain Village, golf courses residences at the Georgian Bay Club and townhouse or apartment style condo properties a short drive away in the quaint village of Thornbury.
Compared to single-family homes and chalets, condominiums are a uniquely different form of property ownership offering lifestyle advantages, investment opportunities as well as potential difficulties for the unsuspecting Buyer or Seller. Rental options for those owners looking to cover some of their ownership costs are varied, but increasingly stringent condo rules and municipal zoning need to reviewed prior to committing to a purchase. Add to this the fact that alternative forms of condominium ownership are emerging and purchasing an area condominium can seem like a daunting process.
Buying and Selling Collingwood, Blue Mountain and other area condominiums should be an enjoyable trouble-free experience. Contact Rick Crouch to learn more.
